Larkspur Lounge

This lounge features an extensive seasonal cocktail menu and includes a boozy hot cocoa with spicy notes of ginger and orange made with Grand Marnier and Drambuie, a sweet Scotch whiskey liqueur. With Larkspur’s breathtaking views from its two storey windows and its massive fireplace, you’re gonna want to stick around and enjoy the ambiance with a few more beverages. Try their signature hot apple cider with white rum, orange, and cinnamon sticks, or if you’re a tea drinker you might enjoy their Blueberry Tea made with Amaretto, Grand Marnier, Earl Grey, and cloves. After a day on the slopes or a frigid evening stroll, you’ll have an assortment of hot cocktails to warm up with at this fine establishment.

Maple Leaf

A spiked hot chocolate that is sure to be in the running for your favourite après ski treat is Maple Leaf’s Black Forest Hot Cocoa. The richness of the cocoa and Luxardo Maraschino is balanced out by the bourbon swirled into this delicious cup of goodness. Maple Leaf also makes a dessert coffee that combines a couple of local gems: Park Distillery maple rye and Banff Roasting Company coffee topped off with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Check out Maple Leaf’s private dining areas for a more intimate setting that’s perfect for a romantic date night or a special occasion.

Three Bears

If you love craft brews, head to Three Bears and give their Seasonal Spiced Winter Ale a try. This amber ale is steeped with a spicy chai tea with notes of cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. Or, on the sweeter side they offer The Boss Hot Chocolate made with their brown ale and chili vodka. While sipping these fun toasty beverages be sure to take a peek at their food menu – the sourdough pizzas are a local favourite!

Nourish Bistro

At Banff’s vegetarian gem you’ll have fantastic options for cocktails served hot. Nourish takes the spiked cocoa game up a notch with their Little Rummer Boy. Chocolate oat milk and chocolate chai maple syrup are mixed with a dark rum, caramel vodka, vanilla liqueur, cacao nib bitters and made fancy with coconut whipped cream and dark chocolate shavings. You’re going to have your mind blown with this one. Their mulled wine is also quite nice and is made with merlot, VSOP Brandy, house juices, and delicious spices.

Mad Trappers

After hitting the slopes, thaw out with one of Mad Trapper’s “Winter Warmers.” Choose from one of their many dessert coffees and boozy cocoas or try their mulled wine. Their Reindeer Games hot cocoa is dangerously good. It’s made with Butter Ripple Schnapps and spiced rum and is the perfect combo of flavour. Or sip on their minty Alpine Baileys coffee with Peppermint Schnapps. You’re bound to find a beverage here to warm you up.

Although the cold winter days are here to stay, they’ll be merrier with these hot cocktails to enjoy. Cheers!
